How to Download Your Snapchat Data

A Snapchat data request concerns information associated with your account. It is different from a media-saving button in an unofficial modification and does not guarantee a copy of every past Snap or chat.

Request an account export

  1. Open Snapchat and go to your profile Settings.
  2. Find My Data or the account data option. The app may direct you to its account-management destination.
  3. Sign in to the intended account if asked.
  4. Review the available information categories and any date-range or Memories options presented.
  5. Confirm the email or delivery details shown and submit the request through that account flow.
  6. Follow the delivery instructions when Snapchat makes the export available.

Available categories and delivery options may differ. This website cannot submit a request on your behalf or predict when your export will arrive.

Read what the export actually contains

Account records and media are different kinds of information. A record of activity is not necessarily the original photo, video or message. Examine the included files and descriptions before concluding that something has been recovered.

Keep the export private

Account exports can contain personal information. Store your copy somewhere you control and avoid sending the complete archive to strangers or to this website. Do not share the password or login code used to make the request.

If you are considering account deletion, read delete your account first. For the limitations of retrieving past content, see recovery and history.
