How to Delete a Snapchat Account
Deleting your Snapchat account is different from uninstalling the app. Uninstalling removes software from a device; an account deletion request concerns the account and its data.
Prepare first
If you want a copy of account information, review how to download your data before starting deletion. Keep in mind that an export may not contain every Snap or message you have ever sent.
Consider whether you need to resolve a login issue rather than delete the account. This site cannot access your account or reverse a deletion request.
Use the account deletion flow
Open Snapchat’s profile Settings and look for the account deletion option where available. Some platforms direct you to the Snapchat account portal. Use the account-management destination opened by the app, sign in to the correct account and choose the account deletion action. Read the explanation and deadlines shown there before entering your password and confirming.
The official instructions describe a deactivation period followed by permanent deletion, with timing that can differ by region. Follow the dates and conditions shown for your own account rather than relying on a generic countdown.
Deactivation and reactivation
Temporary deactivation and completed permanent deletion are different states. If you change your mind, consult the account reactivation instructions during the period shown by Snapchat. Do not assume that an account can be recovered after permanent deletion.
What uninstalling or clearing cache does
Neither uninstalling an app nor clearing its cache is the same as requesting account deletion. Avoid using device storage actions as a substitute for the account-management process.
